MN88 Studio is the working name of Maya Novak, a photographer and videographer who's been shooting professionally since 2020. The name is a nod to two things at once — my initials, and the number on the door of the converted industrial unit the studio has operated from since it opened.
Before going independent I worked as a second shooter on weddings and corporate events, which is where most of my instinct for working fast and unobtrusively comes from. Today the work is split fairly evenly between portrait sessions, small business content, and event coverage.
There's no studio team behind MN88 — every booking is shot, edited and delivered personally, which keeps quality consistent and turnaround quick.
I try to keep sessions relaxed rather than heavily directed — most people photograph better when they're not thinking too hard about posing. For business and product work, the priority is always usability: images that actually fit the platforms and formats you need them for, not just ones that look good in isolation.
